From the Principal

At CMS, we know how important it is that your child be able to read well. That is why we have many opportunities for your child to improve his/her fluency (speed at which he/she reads) and comprehension (how well he/she understands what was read). You can help by requiring your child to read at home. If you have a reluctant reader, you can make it more fun by reading together. You can read a page and then your child can read a page. After reading a page or two, stop and talk about what is happening in the story. Just like anything else, your child gets better at reading by reading. Make reading a family tradition and watch your child's grades improve. If you have any questions about the reading programs at our school, feel free to contact myself or your child's teachers.
